Since every client (Gmail, Thunderbird, Outlook, …) sets different standards, we need to get to a really basic level of creating layouts. This is just one of the many difficulties I had to face. Default strategies for creating layouts back then such as creating containers and using margin, and padding or even float (yes, this was quite popular) turned out not work for all email clients. Back then, I already gained some basic knowledge of how to build basic layouts using HTML and CSS.
